"It’s the small acts of parents, teachers, and friends — each one full of care — that light up our school and enrich our children’s lives."
Our main goal is to organise fun, inclusive and exciting fundraising events that enhance our children’s learning experiences and help enrich school life. Every penny we raise goes straight back into supporting Manston St James – funding resources, activities and opportunities that benefit all our pupils.
Everyone with a connection to the school — parents, grandparents, carers and staff — is automatically a member of the PTFA. Whether you can give a little time or a lot, we’d love for you to get involved!
Our elected committee helps coordinate events and manage the charity’s activities, but we’re always looking for extra helping hands and fresh ideas.

Our PTFA is currently made up of three main committee roles, each playing an important part in keeping things running smoothly:
The Chairperson leads the PTFA and helps coordinate meetings and events. They work closely with the school and the rest of the committee to plan activities, encourage involvement, and make sure everything runs safely and successfully.
The Secretary helps keep everyone organised! They take notes during meetings, share important information with members, and handle any official correspondence. Their role ensures the PTFA stays connected and well-informed.
The Treasurer looks after the PTFA’s finances — keeping track of money raised and spent, managing the accounts, and preparing simple financial reports. They make sure every penny is used wisely for the benefit of our school and pupils.
Every penny raised by the PTFA goes straight back into supporting the children and enhancing life at Manston St James. Our aim is to provide those extra experiences, resources and opportunities that make school life even more memorable and enriching.
With your help, we’ve been able to support a variety of projects and activities, such as:
There are lots of ways to support the PTFA — and every little bit makes a big difference! You don’t need to commit to every meeting or event; just getting involved when you can really helps.
Here are a few ways you can join in:
Whether you have a few hours to spare or just want to help occasionally, you’ll be warmly welcomed. Together, we can make a real difference for our children and our school community.
